ECZEMA

Eczema is defined as the inflammatory condition of the skin. It causes scaly, red patches with itching.. Sometimes fluid-filled blisters, which form may burst.This is also known as dermatitis.

There are several types of eczema. Atopic and contact are the most common. Atopic is found in families. It is caused by over immune to allergens. This may further cause asthma and other allergic infections.

Staphylcoccus aureusis is associated with flare-ups.

 

Sometimes food may also bring up the eczema symptoms. Certain foods like egg,

 

milk and milk based.

 

 

TREATMENT

This should be treated with emollients, moisturizers, lotions and cremas that help

 

to smooth the skin. Aqueous gels should be used rather than soaps.

 

Corticosteroid ointments may reduce the inflammation and itching but will not

 

cure completely.

 

Antibacterial bath additives may help to reduce the bacterial infection.

 

Immunosuppresive drugs may be adviced in case of extreme conditions.
