DERMATITIS

Dermatitis is the condition where skin is swollen.There are various types of dermatitis. The condition when hair is effected is known Seborrhoeic dermatitis. In this case the scalp is swollen and there may be hair loss. The contact dermatitis refers to the irritant and allergic. The substance which effect the skin are known as irritant or allergic. Atopic dermatitis causes pink scaly rash and is very itchy.

SYMPTOMS

Patch of dry, scaly skin, redness, itching, blisters, crusting, inflammation with

blisters on it.

TREATMENT

The treatment for dermatitis solely depnds on the type of dermatitis. Avoid

contact with allergens. Dont use much cosmetics. Avoid cosmetics which are

allergen to you. Use non-cosmetic moisturizers.

Contact physician in case of exterme conditons.

Occasionally, oral corticosteroid may be adviced in case of severe dermatitis.

Antihistamines, help to reduce the pain and itching.

Sometimes patch-testing for specific common allergies may be carried out.

AGGRAVATING CONDITIONS

The chronic dermatitis can spread over whole body and cause redness. This may

lead to loss of the body heat and fluids. Heart may fail in case of extreme

conditions.

PREVENTION
